Welcome to the 2001 Seattle General Election Voters Guide

You will find lots of information here on candidates for Seattle Mayor, Seattle City Attorney and Seattle City Council. Make sure to peruse the On-Line Video Voters Guide as well!

After you are done with City candidates check out King County Records & Elections Voters Guide for information on candidates for King County Executive, County Council, Seattle School Board, and Port of Seattle. A King County On-Line Video Voters Guide is also available there.

And once you are done there check out Secretary of State's Vote.WA.Gov site for information on statewide inititatives.

The City of Seattle provides the Video Voters' Guide and Voters' Pamphlet on line to (1) help you fully participate in the election process by volunteering or contributing to a campaign, and (2) to assist you in making informed choices for the City positions that appear on the November 6, 2001 General Election ballot.

Click on any candidate's name to the left to read their voters' pamphlet statement or view their video voters' guide presentation.

Please let us know what you think by email to Carol Van Noy

Video Voters' Guide

The Seattle Ethics & Elections Commission and King County Records & Elections have jointly coordinated a Video Voters' Guide for this election. The video was produced by Seattle's TVSea and King County's CTV. Each candidate for King County Council, Seattle City Council, Seattle School Board and the Port of Seattle were given the opportunity to speak for two minutes about their candidacy. The full video will be shown at various times on Seattle Cable, TV/Sea Channel 21/28, King County Cable, CTV Channel 22/55 and on several other city's cable access networks.

Streaming video of the Video Voters' Guide is also available by clicking "Online Video Voters Guide" on the left side of this page, or by clicking on any candidate's name to the left.

On-Line Voters' Pamphlet

Also available here is an on-line version of the Voters' Pamphlet. Each candidate for City Office was given the opportunity to submit a 400 word statement about their candidacy, as well as a photo. You can find the photo and statement for each candidate by clicking their name on the left.
