Climate Impacts of Things We Buy
The Office of Sustainability and Environment measures the greenhouse gas emissions for Seattle's buildings, transportation and disposed waste. But there are additional climate emissions from the life cycle of goods and services that are used throughout the City that are not captured in these reports.
Seattle's Climate Action Plan recognizes this and describes how we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help the climate by making informed consumer decisions. Half of Seattle's household emissions are created in our homes, getting around, eating and buying stuff. Learn more about What You Can Do to make a difference.
