Waste and Toxics Reduction

Seattle’s recycling and composting rates are some of the highest in the nation. However, we can still do more. Seattle’s “zero-waste” strategy continues to set aggressive targets to increase the amount we recycle and compost . The City has also worked to reduce the amount of packaging and harmful materials we purchase and use in our operations. Everyone can play a role in keeping Seattle a clean and healthy place to live.
