Recycling

Seattle’s goal is to reach 60% recycling of municipal solid waste (MSW) by the year 2012, and 70% by 2025. In 2009 Seattle recycled 51.1% of its MSW, an increase of 1.1 percentage points over the previous year. Since 2003 the overall recycling rate has risen 12.9 percentage points.

Seattle Public Utilities reports out to the City Council on recycling levels for single family, multi-family and commercial customers. The reports can be found here.
