Learn and Lower Your Impact
Our office is often asked how it is that Seattle has had curbside recycling programs for so long, or how we were able to launch a climate protection initiative. The easy answer is that people in Seattle value protecting the environment and that has made it a priority for city government as well. We know that Seattle residents are creatively and energetically finding ever new ways to be greener, and in turn, help us be greener. The ideas on this page are a guideline only, but we hope it will be a useful place to learn more, take big and small actions to make a difference, and get involved in your community.
