2004 Mayor's Small Business Awards1984-2004 Celebrating over twenty years of small business excellence
Every year, ten small businesses in Seattle receive special recognition for their accomplishments through the Mayor's Small Business Awards. Honored for excellence in marketing, management, employee relations and community involvement, this year's winners represent diversity - in services, size, location and strategies for success. To qualify, the business must have no more than 100 employees and gross revenues of less than $10 million. Since the inception of the awards twenty years ago, over 200 businesses have won top honors. According to Mayor Greg Nickels, "small businesses are really the economic engines that feed our economy, nourish our neighborhoods and provide the unique flavor that makes Seattle such a great place to live." The nine judges involved in this year's awards included small business owners, previous awards winners and representatives of community development. After a confidential review of 47 nominations and three rounds of deliberation, ten small businesses were selected for recognition of their achievements. Congratulations to this year's winners of the 2004 Small Business Awards, sponsored by Wells Fargo and the City of Seattle! 2004 Winners
