2011 Program Results Summary
21% of funded applications were for assistance with medical costs. Applications for medical costs included emergency COBRA coverage, surgery, hospitalization, medicine, and emergency care not covered by insurance.
58% of funded applications were for assistance with Shelter costs. Mortgage and rental assistance was provided to prevent eviction or homelessness.
17% of funded applications were for food assistance. Without a little help from EASE, several employees found themselves in situations where they could not afford to feed their families. Compared to 2010, where approximately half the applications funded were for medical bills and the other half for assistance with rent, 2011 saw a large increase in requests for food assistance.
4% of funded applications fell into the ‘other’ category. This year EASE assisted an employee with the costs of lumber to build a ramp to access their home following a serious accident that left them wheelchair bound.
