Green Festival Comes to Seattle
April 1, 2008

Named one of the top 10 green cities in the U.S. in 2005 by National Geographic’s The Green Guide, Seattle is an ideal place to celebrate green living. Discover green products, attend speaker sessions, and learn how you can help make Seattle a healthier place to live.

Take in more than 350 exhibits:

  • Shop for everything from natural home and health products to solar panels and Fair Trade gifts and crafts.
  • Hang out with your kids as they play and learn in Organic Valley’s Green Kids’ Zone.
    n Enjoy organic dining and sample local beers and wines.
  • Explore developments in green education, social investing and independent media.
  • Learn about City resources for energy conservation, green power, climate action and more at the City of Seattle Pavilion.

Featured speakers include Mayor Greg Nickels, City of Seattle; Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now!; Thom Hartmann, host of Air America; and Billy Frank Jr., Nisqually Tribe.

Join DPD and the City of Seattle at the Green Festival April 12, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and April 13, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Seattle residents can download free entrance tickets from www.seattlecan.org.

The convention center is a fully handicapped-accessible facility. Sign language interpretation is provided. Please inquire at the guest services desk on the skybridge.

Green Festival Language Tours/Interpretation
All tours are on Saturday, April 12, and begin at the Seattle Climate Action Now Pavilion

Somali: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Tagalog: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Cantonese: 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Vietnamese: 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Mandarin: 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Korean: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Spanish: 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
