On Oct. 2, 2006, the amount of relocation assistance paid to residential tenants displaced by development activity increased from $2,462 to $2,664. Relocation assistance paid to residential tenants displaced by an emergency order to vacate and close rose from $3,069 to $3,321.
This 8.2 percent increase over the last calendar was derived from the increase in the Housing Component of the Consumer Price Index during 2005.
The amount of relocation assistance related to development is split evenly between the City and the property owner. Relocation assistance related to an emergency order to vacate and close is paid 100 percent by the property owner.
