Multifamily Code Update Focus of May 3 Open House
April 13, 2006

DPD has been working with the Seattle Planning Commission and focus groups, made up of building and design professionals and community representatives, to identify issues to address as part of the department’s efforts to update the Multifamily Code. Preliminary recommendations are now available on DPD's Urban Neighborhoods website.

As part of this effort, the public is invited to provide input on the recommendations and the overall project at an open house:

May 3, 2006
5:30 to 8 p.m.

presentation begins at 6 p.m.
Bertha Knight Landes Room, 1st floor
City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave.

The goals of the Multifamily Code update are to:

  • Help create high quality multifamily neighborhoods through development flexibility;
  • encourage new investment in a variety of housing types, including affordable housing;
  • support Comprehensive and Neighborhood Plan objectives; and
  • make the code easier to use and understand.
