Draft E. Madison Business District Land Use and Zoning Analysis/Recommendations Available; Hearing July 16

July 8, 2001

With recent redevelopment and several large new projects in the permitting process, the East Madison Business District is changing very rapidly. As a followup to neighborhood planning, the Draft East Madison Business District Land Use & Zoning Analysis and Recommendations have been completed and made available for public review.

The analysis is based on physical features in the neighborhood, as well as Central Area neighborhood plan goals and policies, and is accompanied by several recommendations for land use changes, including recommendations to improve transitions between neighborhood commercial and adjacent residential zones in the area.

DCLU and the Department of Neighborhoods (DON) will hold a public meeting on July 16, 2001 to discuss these recommendations.
