Public Meeting on Tree Preservation in Seattle, Tuesday, August 15
The public is invited to attend a meeting to discuss possible amendments to the Seattle Municipal Code which would preserve trees on vacant land and land being redeveloped in Seattle. The proposals would not apply to existing homes (residential development), but do include:
  • setting a minimum tree canopy requirement for vacant lots being developed or redeveloped,
  • limiting tree removal on vacant land not being developed, and
  • provisions on when and how trees may be replaced.

Alternative proposals will also be discussed. This meeting will allow the public and City staff to discuss the proposals informally before entering the formal code amendment process, which includes a City Council hearing.

Public Meeting
Date & Time:
August 15, 7–9 p.m.

Location:
Seattle Center Fidalgo Room (in the NW Rooms), near Warren & Republican.
