Proposed Changes:
1) Definitions clarified and made consistent with the Seattle Boiler
and Pressure Vessel Code. Added definitions of non-regenerative and
re-generative engines. In the former, the heat is rejected to the
atmosphere and not recovered.
2) Clarified
that non-regenerative engines are not covered by the current law. The
horse power of regenerative engines is used to determine the license
grade for the downstream boilers.
3) The
qualifications for Grade I, II, III license spell out that only
experience as a boiler operator is deemed to satisfy the requirements of
the ordinance. Three years as a boiler operator are necessary to qualify
to take a boiler supervisor test.
