Upcoming Meetings

City Council has scheduled a public hearing on the 2016 Stormwater Code Update for Friday, September 11, 2015. The hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Seattle City Hall Council Chambers. This is your chance to let us know what you think about the 2016 Stormwater Code update. The draft documents and other project applicability code changes are available for your review on the project documents page.

There will also be an opportunity to provide public comment on the draft 2016 Stormwater Manual. We are holding a public meeting about the 2016 Stormwater Manual on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. This meeting is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room 2240 on the 22nd Floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower (700 5th Avenue). The final draft of the 2016 Stormwater Manual will be available on our project documents page prior to the meeting.

Get Involved

We hosted a public meeting on June 10, 2015 about the 2016 Stormwater Code and Manual Update. The draft documents of the 2016 Stormwater Code and the other related project code changes are available on the project documents page. At the meeting, we:

  • Discussed the Stormwater Code project background
  • Identified major changes to the current Code
  • Identified next steps

People who attended the meeting represented various engineering and architecture firms, as well as City of Seattle staff. The attendees provided valuable feedback and questions for us to evaluate during the comment period.

Our official public comment period on the draft 2016 Stormwater Code ended on June 30, 2015. We will continue to take your comments until we send our final recommendations to the Mayor for transmittal to the City Council. Email correspondence is preferred.

If you’re suggesting a code change, please include as much of the following information as you can:

  • Number and title of the code section (for example: 22.805.070.D.a)
  • Specific code language you’re suggesting
  • Explanation of why the code should be changed

We may not be able to respond to individual comments, but we will take all comments into consideration.
