Privately Owned Public Spaces

A privately owned public space
Leveraging development to create public spaces for everybody to use and enjoy.

What's Happening Now?

Since 1966, Seattle has allowed greater development rights for downtown projects that include spaces open to the public, such as plazas, arcades, atriums, hillclimbs, and green streets. These spaces, which are allowed by specific rules in the Seattle Land Use Code, are located in Seattle's Center City.
