Fees & Billing Process

Overview
As specified in the 2005 Fee Subtitle, DPD charges $155 per hour for site review and site inspections performed by the Site Development Team.  Charges subject to the hourly rate include:

  • Site Review - DPD site team staff time associated with review of Environmentally Critical Areas (ECA), geotechnical reports, drainage and grading, and conducting Pre-Application Site Visits (PASV) and completing the PASV report.
  • Site Inspection - DPD site team staff time associated with temporary erosion control, first ground disturbance, final site review, along with review during construction and completing the close out of the special inspection requirements for the project.

In addition to the hourly charges, a $116.25 PASV deposit and a $155-$775 deposit for anticipated erosion control inspections and special inspection processing associated with the proposed construction are required.

Billing Process

  • Before the Permit: Applicants must pay a deposit in advance for the PASV. Also, when a special inspection is required for the building permit, a deposit is necessary for anticipated site inspections that occur after issuance of the permit.
  • With the Permit: At the time of permit issuance, applicants must pay outstanding fees for DPD site team staff time spent reviewing the ECA, geotechnical, grading and drainage components of the project.
  • After the Permit: DPD will send invoices for fees incurred after issuance of the building permit, with the first invoice reflecting the history of project fees paid up to that point, including all site deposits made to DPD.

Important: To ensure DPD bills the correct firm and/or individual, be sure to update contact information for the financially responsible party when obtaining the building permit.
