Seattle's Population & Demographics
Notes on Geographic Comparability with 1990 Census
Data from the 1990 Census were compiled for the block groups approximating each locally-defined area. The Census Bureau redrew block groups for the Census 2000. The City of Seattle had to use these new block groups to compile 2000 data for the Neighborhood Planning Areas. The City strived to make the boundaries of those areas as comparable as possible to the boundaries used with the 1990 census. (Return to locally defined areas .)
