Urban Design
DPD supports urban design excellence throughout Seattle. DPD coordinates work among City departments, developers, property owners, and the community. Working closely with the Seattle Design Commission, and with DPD’s Design Review Program, DPD’s urban designers provide design leadership, development facilitation and education to affect the appearance of both public and private developments and how those developments contribute to the public’s experience of the city.  

Seattle Design Commission
The Seattle Design Commission advises the Mayor, City Council and City departments on the design of capital improvements and other projects that shape Seattle's public realm.

CityDesign
The mission of CityDesign is to support urban design excellence throughout Seattle. In its role as a creative catalyst, CityDesign promotes coordination and collaboration among city departments, developers, property owners, educational institutions and the community.

Design Review Process 
The City of Seattle's Design Review Program provides a forum for citizens, developers and the City to review and guide the design of qualifying commercial and multifamily development projects.

Design Guidelines 
The Design Review Guidelines for Multifamily and Commercial Buildings are the backbone of the Design Review Program. They are used by the Design Review Boards and City staff to judge the merits of proposed projects in the six Design Review Board Districts outside of downtown.
