David Nemens |

David Nemens is the director of community development for the City of Covington. Prior to that, he worked as a public sector planner, as a planning consultant (including ten years as principal of his own firm), and as a landscape architect. He has skills in urban design, land use planning, neighborhood outreach, stakeholder involvement and public speaking. He is a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Washington, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has lived in the City of Seattle since 1978. He is the Vice Chair, Advisory Council, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, and served on the Board of Directors of Environmental Works, a community design studio on Seattle's Capitol Hill. He holds masters degrees in urban planning and landscape architecture from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, a certificate in landscape architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a baccalaureate in English Literature from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. |

Bill Vandeventer is a principal in Vandeventer and Carlander Architects. He has designed multi-family, commercial and residential projects in Seattle and Western Washington, including a residence that was awarded a Seattle Times/AIA Award of Merit. He chaired the Capitol Hill Planning Committee and serves on the Fairview Green Street Planning Committee. He is a licensed architect in Washington State. He earned a Masters degree in architecture from Yale and a B.S. in architecture from the University of Virginia.

Mark Garrell is a development associate with Trammell Crow Residential, responsible for land acquisition, entitlements, and supervision of the development process for projects in the Seattle Metro Area. He has seven years of planning and development experience with an emphasis in sustainable, high density, mixed-use housing. He is a LEED accredited professional and holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington and a BA in Political Theory from the University of Virginia.

Matt Roewe, AIA LEED AP, is an architect and director of mixed-use and major projects at VIA Suzuki Architects in Seattle. His 22 years of experience include residential hi-rise, mixed-use urban projects, urban design, commercial and renovation projects. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, The Queen Anne Community Councils Land Use Review Committee, Allied Arts Urban Environment Committee, The Great City Initiative, The Street Car Alliance, and The South Lake Union Height and Density Action Committee. He has a Bachelor of architecture degree from Washington State University.

John Rose Jr. is an architect with Donald King Architects. He has 28 years of experience in architecture, interior design and design build, 14 years in facility programming and space planning, 10 years in construction management, and 2 years in sustainable growth management planning. He has a long list of volunteer experience, most notably on the Redmond Design Review Board and the City of Sammamish's Planning Advisory Board, where he championed a village planning concept to concentrate growth. He is a registered architect, and holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Building Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Kristen Clem is an Urban Planner with Otak, Inc., where she specializes in project permitting, urban planning and design. Kristen has experience in both the private and public sector, with experience at the City of South Tucson as a planner and project manager, for their Brownfields Redevelopment Program and with consulting firms, The Planning Center and Otak. Through her work at Otak, Kristen serves as the planning and land use consultant for the City of Medina. She earned a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Community Development and a B.S. in Regional Development from the University of Arizona..
