In 2004, responding to new population and employment projections for the years 2004-2024, DPD's City Planning division conducted a legally required 10-year update to
Seattle's Comprehensive ("Comp") Plan. The updated plan became available in January 2005.
None of the updates to the Comp Plan altered the City’s commitment to the urban village strategy or to accommodating its share of growth. The biggest changes are in the Land Use, Transportation and Environment elements, but some changes are proposed for nearly every element. In addition, the plan’s appendices, which include statistics and supporting data, have been extensively updated.
