Urban Design Resource Center

CityDesign has long-term plans to establish an Urban Design Resource Center for urban design education and outreach in Seattle. The center would be developed through partnerships between CityDesign, other City agencies and design-related organizations throughout the city.

Read the: Executive Summary, Strategic Plan (2.9 MB), and Technical Appendix (1.1 MB).

History

The idea of an urban design resource center evolved early in 2001, as CityDesign set to broaden the reach of its education and outreach programs to meet the needs of City staff, the design and development community, and the public. CityDesign hired Berk & Associates, consultants skilled in strategic planning, who helped CityDesign develop a plan, complete an inventory of existing programs in other cities, convene a number of focus groups, and an Advisory Panel to provide overall direction.

For more information or to provide feedback on the plan, contact: Guillermo Romano at (206) 233-7808 or guillermo.romano@seattle.gov
