Town Hall Plaza Stockholm, Sweden

Serving as forecourt to the Town Hall, this somewhat formal open space is inviting to pedestrians by virtue of a variety of design elements including a covered arcade along the building edge, a set of shallow steps to sit on, benches along the major walkways, and a promenade along the water. Note that flagstone paving extends into the grass area, signalling to users that it is permissable to use the lawn.
