The two primary central waterfront planning events held in 2004--the "Visioning Charrette" and the "Charrette Presentation and Exhibit"--provided a creative opportunity for citizens to generate ideas about what the future of the Seattle's waterfront should be.
Over 300 planning professionals, students, community advocates and others from around the world attended the intensive "Visioning Charrette" public workshop on February 27-28, 2004 (see charrette brief and brochure ). Participants divided into 22 teams to collaborate on visions for Seattle's central waterfront, developing design concepts that identify major uses, public spaces, and other key elements to be located on the waterfront. Their work will inform development of a waterfront concept plan for consideration by Seattle City Council.| Charrette Presentation & Exhibit |
