Permitting Process Overview
Plan Reviewed Permits

Most projects that arrive at DPD for permitting go through our traditional plan review process.

The standard plan review process applies to projects that are not deemed Subject-to-Field-Inspection (STFI). Plan review can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the complexity of the project involved. DPD reviewers check the systems, construction, and land use implications of the projects they review against all the codes that apply, and make sure that each project adheres to the standards required.

Find more details about what to expect when your project is plan reviewed by checking our "Plan Review & Corrections" page.

Be Prepared
Find forms for many of our plan reviewed permits on the Forms website. Download the forms you need and fill them out in advance.
