Project "How To" Guide

As a way of preparing homeowner applicants for future remodel projects, DPD provided coaching advice and information in a series of stories in dpdINFO. The information in these stories comes directly from permit specialists, just like you would normally receive it, if you came into the Applicant Services Center (ASC).

The 2008 "Summer Start" series (May to September) consisted of these stories:

  • May 2008: Can I Build A Deck?
  • June 2008: What is a Site Plan and When is it Required?
  • July 2008: Can I Build an Accessory Structure on My Property?
  • August 2008: Do I Need a Permit to Build a Fence?
  • September 2008: Where Can I Find the General Standards for Project Plans?

Do you have a home improvement question or project-related story you want to read about, which is not indicated above? Then contact Tyson Lin, Public Relations Specialist at (206) 684-8443.
