City Green Building
Building Professionals

Homeowners and prospective buyers are becoming increasingly aware of energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality concerns, moisture issues, and the use of green products. Whether you’re an architect or interior designer, design-build firm, or contractor, you have the opportunity to increase your firm’s competitiveness in the marketplace by learning and using green building practices.

Go Green with Customized Help from Our Experts
We're here to help you stay ahead of the curve and capture this emerging market segment with a custom-built package of incentives and assistance that will maximize your project's green potential.  We provide:

  • design tools & strategies
  • construction practice tips
  • financial incentives & assistance

The City of Seattle encourages you to use the Built Green and Energy Star Homes programs for new construction projects in Seattle. The Built Green program includes a checklist specifically for remodel projects.  In 2007 another new program, called LEED for Homes, will become available.
