Construction Site & Permanent Equipment Noise
Construction times allowed by the Seattle Noise Ordinance are:
- 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday-Friday
- 9 a.m.-10 p.m., weekends and holidays
If you have a concern about construction noise or noise from mechanical equipment, a commercial facility, or operational machinery anywhere in the Seattle city limits, you may file a complaint with DPD by calling one of our noise coordinators at (206) 684-7843 or (206) 615-1760. Public Nuisance Noise
To file a complaint about public nuisance noises--such as dogs, fowl, other animals, horns or sirens, music, amplified sound, motor vehicles, or water craft--call the Seattle Police Department's non-emergency number at (206) 625-5011. Aviation Noise
Local airports have responsibility for collecting information on noise complaints and notifying the operators. If you have a complaint about aviation noise, and know where the aircraft or helicopter is coming from, or heading to, then call the appropriate noise hotline number:
- Sea-Tac International Airport: (206) 433-5393
- King County International Airport (Boeing Field): (206) 205-5242
- Renton Municipal Airport: (425) 430-7471
If the noise complaint concerns noise emanating from ground operations of an aircraft at Boeing Field, or at a seaplane base or heliport within the Seattle city limits, you may file a complaint with DPD by contacting a Noise Abatement coordinator at (206) 684-7843 or (206) 615-1760.
