DPD’s voluntary Home Retrofit Program can help you protect your home from earthquake damage. The program provides a prescriptive planset for many wood frame structures that are home retrofit projects, which eliminates the need to hire a design professional to develop drawings. 

Most earthquake damage to single family homes is caused either by the home jumping from its foundation or the lateral failure of a weak pony wall (the short wall between the foundation and the first floor). DPD’s home retrofit plans address both of these issues.
