New Amendments for 2006 Seattle Building and Residential Codes Proposed to Take Effect in 2008
Seattle is proposing some changes to the 2006 Residential and Building Codes that could take effect in August or September 2008. Some of the proposals reflect changes made by the State Building Code Council and others clarify certain sections or solve problems that have arisen since the codes were adopted in 2007.
We expect the proposals will be considered by the City Council in July and could take effect at the end of summer. The draft amendments can be viewed by following the links below. For more information, contact Vicki Baucom at vicki.baucom@seattle.gov or Maureen Traxler at maureen.traxler@seattle.gov.

NOTE: The ordinances are not insertion pages for the model code books. The ordinances show only the sections that are being amended. Most of the changes are shown by striking through deleted text and underlining added text. However, in some cases, the ordinance section heading will state that a new section is added, or a section is deleted. In those cases, there will be no underline or strike through.
