·     Candidate can receive up to $250 in cash from an individual.

Primary Election Voucher Program Candidates

Defined Campaign Statuses

Candidates move through many stages of the Democracy Voucher program. Candidates begin by signing a Pledge to abide by the program's rules. The table below shows the current stage of each campaign.

Signed Pledge
The candidate may collect qualifying contributions, qualifying signatures, and Democracy Vouchers.

Completed Qualifying Process
The candidate may collect and redeem Democracy Vouchers. Released from Spending Limit
The candidate may collect Democracy Vouchers and private dollars but will not receive funding from Democracy Vouchers upon raising $75,000 for the primary election or $150,000 for the general election in vouchers and monetary contributions.

Released from Contribution Limit
The candidate's individual contribution limit increases from $250 to $500 (which includes the value of the individual's Democracy Vouchers).

Released from both the Spending Limit and Contribution Limit
The candidate may collect Democracy Vouchers and private dollars but will not receive additional funding from Democracy Vouchers upon raising $75,000 for the primary election or $150,000 for the general election in vouchers and monetary contributions.The candidate may receive up to $500 from an individual, which includes the value of an individual's Democracy Vouchers.

Reached maximum voucher distribution for the entire election year
The candidate cannot receive additional funding from the Democracy Voucher program because the candidate has reached the maximum voucher distribution for the entire year. Residents can still assign a candidate their vouchers as a sign of support.
