March 9, 2005

Svend Auken imageConcerned about global climate change, national security, or the economy?

At our March 18 Urban Sustainability Forum event you’ll learn how developing locally produced sustainable energy and using our existing resources more efficiently is part of the solution to these challenges. Plan now to attend:

“Take Charge with Sustainable Energy”
Friday, March 18, 2005
7-9 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m)
UW Meany Hall

Guest speaker Svend Auken—a member of Danish Parliament and formerly Danish Minister for Energy & Environment—will tell us about how Denmark moved from almost 100 percent dependence on foreign oil to being a country where renewable energy technology is now its top export.

Presented by Mayor Greg Nickels and International Sustainable Solutions, this event is the second in the 2005 Urban Sustainability Forum series, which is designed to be an energizing public dialogue on transforming Seattle into a 21st century city that is climate-neutral, pedestrian-friendly, transit-oriented, community-focused and sustainably designed.
