The City of Seattle’s Land Use Code has specific requirements for notifying the public of opportunities to comment on proposed land use activities. The type and extent of this notice is generally dependent on the type of project in question. Our three primary notice methods include:
|
White Signs

Yellow Signs |

Mailed Notices
In addition to signage, we mail a notice regarding permit applications, decisions, and other land use actions twice a week to over 200 neighborhood organizations and individuals citywide via our Land Use Information Bulletin. In certain cases we mail a notice to nearby property owners and tenants as well.
Public Meetings & Decisions
If you would like to be informed of any public meetings on a particular project and on DPD’s decision regarding the permit, ask the planner associated with the project (listed on the land use sign or in the Land Use Information Bulletin) or contact our Public Resource Center.
