Seattle City Council Hosts Panel on the State of the Regional Economy
Local experts to discuss jobs, housing, lending, and regional economic indicators

Who: Dick Conway, Dick Conway and Associates; Desiree Phair, Employment Security; Eileen O'Grady, Elliott Bay Associates; Susan Greenwald, Homestreet Bank; Dr. Stan Humphries, Zillow

What: Council President Richard Conlin chairs a special edition of Seattle City Council Briefing, The State of the Regional Economy: A Panel Discussion Among Local Experts

    When: Monday, March 23, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Where: Seattle City Hall, 600 4th Avenue, first floor in the Bertha Knight Landes Room

Why: The Council has established a special Economic Recovery Strategy Committee of the Whole (COW) in order to better understand existing opportunities and what local government can do to improve the regional economy. As the City develops strategies to address economic recovery opportunities in a recessionary economy and beyond, the Council hosts experts to discuss the jobs outlook in the region, real estate financing, mortgage lending, and capital markets.

The March 23 panel is one of many steps designed to help inform the Council and the public about local economic trends, and specific challenges. The next official meeting of the Economic Recovery Strategy COW will be held April 13 at 2:30 p.m.
