COUNCILMEMBER CLARK SEEKING APPLICANTS TO PIKE PLACE MARKET CAPITAL RENOVATION COMMITTEE

SEATTLE — Councilmember Sally J. Clark seeks applicants for two new positions on the Pike Place Market Capital Renovation Committee (CRC), a body tasked to advise on renovation work that will begin at the Market in the spring of 2009. Seattle voters recently approved the Pike Place Market Levy to initiate a six-year fix-up of Market infrastructure, and the existing six-member CRC is to be expanded to include a member with an expertise in finance related to public projects and a member with expertise in construction and/or project management.

The two new positions will be advisory only (non-voting) and serve in two-year terms that can be renewed. Applicants should send a resume and letter of interest to Councilmember Clark, and have either expertise in finance related to public projects or have expertise in construction and/or project management. The Capital Renovation Committee meetings are open to the public and are held monthly, generally on the second Monday of the month, but are subject to change.

The CRC works with Market staff to set policy and goals concerning the renovation work, as well as assist in monitoring of project budgets, timelines and progress of work. The committee makes recommendations to the full Market Public Development Authority Council for consideration and final decision-making.

What: Applicants for the Pike Place Market Capital Renovation Committee

When: Applications accepted now through 5 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 15, 2008

Who: Open to Seattleites who carry an expertise in finance related to public projects or have expertise in construction and/or project management

How: Send a resume and letter of interest to Councilmember Sally J. Clark sally.clark@seattle.gov, and further information available on Councilmember Clark’s website .
