COUNCILMEMBERS HOST OPERA ENTHUSIASTS
BRAVO! Club comes to City Hall, Thursday, July 17, 6:30 pm
SEATTLE — Seattle’s BRAVO! Club is an organization for opera enthusiasts in their 20’s and 30’s dedicated to discovering and exploring opera through a variety of social and educational events. Founded in 1996, BRAVO! Club hosts dozens of events per year and has nearly 600 members, making it the nation’s largest association for young arts enthusiasts. Program membership includes benefits such as discount Seattle Opera tickets, social events, education lectures, and recitals at venues throughout Seattle.
On Thursday July 17th Seattle City Councilmembers Jan Drago and Tom Rasmussen will host BRAVO! Club’s 2008/2009 Season Kickoff Party at City Hall. Enjoy complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres with admission, an up-close look at costumes seen on-stage, and live performances by LOCAL BAND 2/5’s and Seattle Opera’s Young Artists.
“Groups such as BRAVO! are a valuable resource for younger people who are interested in the arts scene,” says Councilmember Drago. “We should encourage and promote the wonderful work they do.” Councilmember Rasmussen agrees: “I fully support the mission of BRAVO! Club, to develop new generations of opera lovers in Seattle. This group achieves that by creating a fun way to experience the Opera for younger audiences.”
