Councilmember Harrell Recommends Carrasco Reconfirmation
Energy and Technology Committee Votes to Reconfirm City Light Head
SEATTLE — Councilmember Bruce Harrell, Chair of the Energy and Technology Committee presented his recommendation to the Committee to reconfirm Seattle City Light Superintendent, Jorge Carrasco. The committee then voted in favor of reconfirmation which will be voted on by Full Council Monday, June 23, 2008. The vote comes as a culmination of a thorough process where Councilmember Harrell held meetings with City Light employees and ratepayers, conducted a City Light employee poll, held a public comment session and created a report containing all of the information gathered during the process. In addition, the report includes a summary of the reconfirmation process and Councilmember Harrell’s expectations for Superintendent Carrasco as he moves forward as the leader of City Light.
The Full Council meeting of June 23 begins at 2:00 in Council Chambers where the public is welcome to provide comment.
