COUNCIL HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED CHANGES FOR TAXIS Councilmember Godden wants to hear public comment on increasing licenses and fares
Seattle— Councilmember Jean Godden, chair of the Finance and Budget Committee, today announced a public hearing on Thursday, June 5, 2 p.m., in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, on proposed legislation that will change the regulation of Seattle’s taxicabs. The new legislation would increase the number of licenses for taxis from 667 to 1000 and require that new taxis get 30 miles to the gallon.
Councilmember Godden said, “We hope to hear from the public about these important changes to how the City regulates taxicabs.”
For those who wish to testify, a sign-up sheet will be available outside the Council Chamber one-half hour before the public hearing.
