COUNCILMEMBER JEAN GODDEN ASKS FOR PATIENCE WHILE SEATTLE CITY LIGHT CREWS WORK TO RESTORE POWER
SEATTLE – As of 11:00 AM, nearly 163,000 Seattle City Light customers are without power. Nearly 25 crews, with 150 electrical workers are working around the clock to restore electricity in the affected areas. Many customers should see their power back on by sunset; however, some other customers may expect to wait 48 to 72 hours to see their power restored.
“I want to urge the public to be patient while City Light is working to get your electricity back on line,” said Seattle City Councilmember Jean Godden, who chairs the Energy and Technology Committee which oversees City Light. “Crews are working very hard to restore service as quickly as possible, but we also want to ensure their safety on the job. We have called in additional crews from other parts of the country to help.”
