Public Hearing:
2002 Housing Levy Administration and Financial Plan

WHAT:
The 2002 Housing Levy requires the City Council to adopt a Levy Administrative & Financial Plan (A&F Plan) every two years. In April, the City's Office of Housing forwarded a set of recommended policy changes for Council consideration. The Housing Levy Oversight Committee, comprised of citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council, have reviewed and approved the proposed amendments to Ordinance 120823. The proposed amendments to the A&F Plan will impact the Levy's programs of Rental Production, Preservation, Homebuyer Assistance and Operations and Maintenance. (See attachment for a summary of the proposed A&F Plan changes)

WHEN:
Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 9:30 a.m.

WHERE:
Seattle City Hall, Council Chambers, 600 4th Avenue

The legislation under consideration can be viewed on the web at http://clerk.ci.seattle.wa.us/~public/CBOR1.htm by typing in Council Bill number 115233.

The agenda for the May 3, 2005 Housing, Human Services and Health Committee meeting can be viewed on the web at http://www.seattle.gov/leg/housi.htm.

Note from Councilmember: Members of the Council's Housing, Human Services and Health Committee were briefed on the proposed Levy Administrative & Financial Plan amendments on Tuesday, April 5. A possible vote on the proposed amendments is scheduled for after the public hearing, during the committee's regularly scheduled meeting on May 3. The proposed policy changes will have an impact on how the 2002 Housing Levy will be administered. I encourage members of the public to share with councilmembers your questions and comments about the proposal.

For more information: Contact Rick Hooper from the Office of Housing at (206) 684-0338 or by email at rick.hooper@seattle.gov.
