BrynDel Swift was born in Seattle and grew up in Bellingham and Lacey. After graduation from Smith College in western Massachusetts she returned to the Pacific NW to work on Initiative 120, a number of local city council campaigns, and for the Women's Political Caucus. BrynDel joined the staff of King County Councilmember Larry Phillips doing external relations in the district before serving as Chief of Staff. At King County, she worked on numerous regional growth management, water quality, parks, open space and environmental issues as well as annual review of the King County budget. She is looking forward to working for Debora Juarez and District 5!

Negheen worked most recently for WA State Representative Judy Clibborn on key statewide transportation projects. While working in Olympia, Negheen was a founder & program director of the Open Pathways Mentorship Program to mentor, engage and diversify the workforce in and around the Washington State Legislature. She served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Olympia, is a current Board Member for the National Women’s Political Caucus of WA and a recent IDF fellow.

Negheen dedicates her continued education & advocacy to understanding how policy can elevate voices of historically marginalized communities at the local level. She is excited to continue this work and join Councilmember Juarez’s team to serve the people of District 5!

Originally from Boston, Dean completed his two-year service in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and settled in Seattle, working for an education non-profit. In this role, Dean provided consultation services and advocated for Latinx students in Tacoma, WA, to create a safer and more inclusive learning environment in public schools. This experience inspired Dean to return to school to pursue an MPA with a focus on education policy at the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington. He's been working for Councilmember Juarez since November 2018 and is excited to join the team full-time!

Murphy grew up in Bothell, Washington and is a lifelong Washington resident. He recently graduated from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance with his Masters in Public Administration.

At the Evans School he served in student government and after noticing a need for students to learn about tribal governance organized a Tribal Governance and Policy panel focusing on equity and inclusion in local government. Murphy is an Eagle Scout and has spent five summers working as camp staff and supporting youth programs at local camps. Outside of work he spends his time keeping up with superhero films and television and finding new board games to try. He is excited to join Councilmember Jaurez's team and work for D5!
