Broad St / Harrison St, (map)

Respondent #10, 5/30/08
These pictures were taken on 4/9/08 from the sidewalk on the north side of Broad St, crossing the intersection of Broad St with Taylor Ave and Harrison St. I went by the intersection today to verify that it is still the same as it was when the pictures were taken. There is a lot of traffic traveling southwest on Broad St and turning right on Harrison St. These cars tend to be going too fast and are reluctant to slow down or stop for anyone crossing the street.
Seattle Department of Transportation (SDoT) Response
I believe you are referring to crossing Harrison to the traffic island, then crossing Taylor and continuing down Broad St. At this time, there is a lot of development taking place on the north side of Harrison St. When the construction is completed, we will have a better opportunity to evaluate this crossing. We will work with arterial operations, observing pedestrian and motorist’s behavior, to come up with a treatment that best suits this location.
Thanks again for your contacting us about this crossing.
