Police Chief Confirmation Process

Councilmember M. Lorena González (Pos. 9, Citywide), chair of the Gender Equity, Safe Communities, New Americans & Education Committee, hosted the confirmation process for the appointment of Carmen Best as Seattle Police Department’s Chief of Police.

Best was confirmed by the City Council August 13, 2018.

Mayor Jenny Durkan announced the nomination of Carmen Best on July 17, 2018.
