Kathy Nyland, Legislative Aide
Kathy Nyland is one of those California types who moved to Washington and forgot to leave. She has never met a meeting she didn't like and is often seen reading EIS reports, with post-it notes and highlighter in hand. Despite rumors to the contrary, she does occasionally leave the confines of Georgetown. A little bit Martha Stewart and a little bit Jimmy Stewart, she thinks being called a 'policy wonk' is a compliment. With her new position, Kathy completes the political trinity of "beat City Hall," "work with City Hall," and "work at City Hall." A proud Cal alum, she beseeches the college football deities to one day let her spend New Year's Day in Pasadena. When not toiling for the good of the neighborhood, district, and city, she's often found in the company of her partner and their three canines.

Lily Rehrmann, Legislative Aide
Seattle natives are a rare and unique species. And the Bagshaw office is fortunate to now have one in our office — Lily Rehrmann. Born and raised on Capitol Hill, Lily has a fondness for the Emerald City. But, to be sure, Lily tried her hand at being a Midwesterner, not once, but twice: First for her undergraduate degree, and most recently for law school at Creighton University. Fortunately, both times the bland food and cold winters prompted Lily to return to her NW roots.
Prior to attending law school, Lily received her masters in multitasking from none other than Starbucks. She comes well-equipped to pull shots, counsel constituents, and listen to a committee meeting while typing an email and taking a phone call at the same time. Scheduling for the councilmember is just one of the many duties that falls on Lily’s plate in her new role as Legislative Assistant. She’ll also be tracking issues where she can use those extra letters that will soon follow her name. |
