The City of Seattle has mandatory specifications for soils, including: Bioretention Soil, Compost, Topsoils, Planting Soils, Mulch and Arborist Wood Mulch for all City of Seattle funded projects.
 
Consistent with Resolutions #30990 and #31459 and the City's Sustainable Purchasing Policy, approved materials and sites for soil supply, retrieved or trucked, are listed below from sources that "close the loop" by using City of Seattle-generated food and yard waste feedstocks.
