Community Service
Seattle Community Court partners with diverse communities and non-profit organizations to identify the types of service they would like to see completed. Community service projects are identified at meetings of advisory boards, community councils, taskforces and other stakeholders, who share their concerns about their neighborhoods.
Community Court works to directly respond to these concerns by bringing community service crews to their neighborhoods. Under the guidance of the our AmeriCorps team, crews work to remove litter, paint out graffiti, plant and water public trees, weed and maintain traffic circles, remove invasive plants, prepare community gardens and other revitalization activities (link to service site page). Often, neighborhood volunteers work side-by-side with our participants.
