The Lake City Mural

During the summer of 2009, the Lake City Community expressed an interest in creating a mural as a community service project. With a theme that reflects Lake City History, and working with photos and materials provided by the senior citizens of the Lake City Community Center, Seattle Community Court Participants began to create the mural design.

Many neighbors came to the dedication, and the mural serves as a source of civic pride for the Lake City Community.

After priming the space, the mural design was transferred onto the wall.
	Participants then began to fill in the colors, beginning with the larger shapes.
They finally completed the artwork with the details.
	. . . And the neighbors came to celebrate.
