OCR training session

The Seattle Office for Civil Rights offers training and technical assistance on civil rights laws and regulations, free of charge to residents and organizations based in Seattle.

  • Renting in Seattle: Fair Housing & Rental Regulations for Landlords

    The Seattle Office for Civil Rights and Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections will host a training for landlords this October 18 on fair housing laws and codes related to renting in Seattle.

    The training will cover the laws that protect tenants from discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and the use of criminal records to unfairly screen out applicants. Trainers will also explain the rental regulations that limit move-in costs, enforcement of minimum housing standards, rent increase notices, deposit returns and much more.

    The session will be held at Phinney Center, Community Hall (brick building), 6532 Phinney Ave. N., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To register, click here
