About Us The City Light Advisory Committee is composed of utility industry experts and provides advice on specified topics to the Mayor, Council, and City Light Superintendent. Committee members have demonstrated expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: business, finance, energy conservation, environmental protection, energy law, utility operations, and power/risk management. The Mayor and Council each appoint one Advisory Committee member for a one-year term, one Advisory Committee member for a two-year term and one Advisory Committee member for a three-year term. Upon expiration of Committee members' terms, the Mayor and the Council each appoint a Committee member for a term concluding on January 31, 2010. Committee members are eligible for reappointment. The Advisory Committee works on projects contained in a work plan developed collaboratively with the Mayor, Council and City Light Superintendent and each year, by December 1, the Advisory Committee proposes a new work plan for the next calendar year, with a list of issues and scope of work. Also, by January 31, the Committee provides a written annual report to the Mayor, Council and City Light Superintendent summarizing their activities and recommendations of the previous year.
