Approved Compost, Bioretention Soil & Arborist Woodchip Mulch
The City of Seattle has mandatory specifications for soil, including compost, bioretention soil and arborist wood mulch for all City-funded projects within city limits. See section 9-14 of the City Standard Plans and Specifications.
Consistent with Resolutions 30990 and 31459 and the City's Sustainable Purchasing Policy, approved materials and sites for soil supply, retrieved or trucked, are listed below from sources that "close the loop" by using Seattle-generated food- and yard-waste feedstocks.
