How to Testify
- Everyone who wants to testify will get a chance to
speak.
- Please sign-up to speak at the entrance. Sign-up
begins at 5:00 PM. You may sign-up
only for yourself and for no other person(s).
- When signing up to speak please indicate which aspect
of the agreement you wish to address (SCAN, Art Zone, discounts for
low-income seniors, discounts for low-income people with disabilities and discounts
for very low-income who are not elderly or disabled, other issues as
indicated). Please note that some speakers
may be taken out of order to enable comments on a variety of topics
to be heard throughout the hearing. The Chair will be alternating among
subjects throughout the course of the hearing.
- Please limit your remarks to two (2) minutes or less.
- Please note that this committee does not recognize
the “yielding” of time to others.
- If you are with a group presenting similar interests
and comments, you may combine your presentations. Group presenters should limit your
group’s remarks to five (5) minutes or less.
- Please begin your comments by stating your name and
address and the organization, if any, that you represent.
- Staff will let you know how much time you have left (1
minute or 30 seconds) and when your time has expired. At that time, please conclude your comments.
- Demonstrations, shouting, chanting or other
disruptive activity that prevents speakers from being heard by all in the
room will not be allowed.
- Again,
everyone who wants to speak will get a chance to be heard.
